The Pepsi Idaho Regatta 2009

The 2008 Pepsi Idaho Regatta brought with it 5, yes 5, broken course record on the mile and a quarter tri-oval course on the Snake River. the race for the Bill and Lance Faulkner Memorial Trophy and Moyle Mink was first challenged by the Budweiser Cracker Box P-96 crew of Amy Ottinger and Missy Monroe that flirted with the current record scoring 99.21% on their elapsed time. That run was quickly eclipsed in the Coast to Coast Carports Pro-Stock class where Ty Newton breached the class record at 100.05%, he followed that up with an even better run of 101% of the record.  Not to be outdone, the Fairfield Inn Competition Jet of Toby Clark breached their class record at 100.08% and came back Sunday to claim the Lance and Bill Faulkner Memorial Trophy and Moyle Mink as the CJ-53 boat tallied 102.22% of the old coarse record.

2009 is already slated to be bigger and bolder. Friday Night Shootouts from DL Evans Bank will once again kick off the racing action, six classes will qualify boats throughout the afternoon culminating with a series of shootout finals starting at 6pm.  Racing Saturday and Sunday will feature the Pepsi K-Boats, Smith's Food and Drug Super Stocks, D.L. Evans Bank Grand Nationals, Budweiser Cracker Boxes, Coast To Coast Pro Stocks, Fairfield Inn Competition Jets, Cycle City Nostalgia Class, and the BJ's Tavern 2.5 Liter Hydros round out the field. Could 2009 signal the return of Top Alcohol Drag Boats to the Liquid Quarter Mile at Burley?  Please Contact the Burley Regatta Committee with any questions or comments.

The Pepsi Idaho Regatta is a not-for-profit community event. The Idaho Regatta Committee works year around to make this event an exciting and unforgettable experience. Racing teams can expect beautiful weather, excellent water conditions, and homegrown hospitality. Race fans can expect 3 days of fun in the sun while meeting racers face-to-face and socializing with friends - not to mention some of the most intense competition on the APBA racing circuit. Founded by Don Moyle in 1975, the Idaho Regatta has the flavor of a first class professional racing event mixed with the personal touch that only a small town can deliver. For racers and race fans alike, it's a three day weekend of red carpet treatment!

The Pepsi Idaho Regatta is sanctioned by the American Power Boat Association(APBA).
